Productivity Tip of the Week

This past week, I wouldn’t say I “took the week off” of content creation because I still brainstormed and filmed for YouTube and stayed active on Instagram/TikTok, but I focused on chilling the f out.  If you don’t know already, I’ll share  little secret that I went off hormonal birth control last November and I have yet to have a period.  I recently stopped drinking caffeine because I noticed I was getting dependent on coffee again, so I purchased a trial kit of Rasa mushroom powders that you brew in a french press.  I won’t go into it too much but caffeine is not helping my particular situation of being high stress and anxious during my week and weekends.  I also started tracking my nutrition in the MyFitnessPal app and learned I haven’t been eating enough- not on purpose, but accidentally going until 3-4pm without food for multiple days a week, and it has been happening for months.  And, I noticed I’m gaining weight, so there’s a whole host of issues that I could be dealing with that are going undiagnosed. I’m making an appointment with my doctor this week so we can get some blood work done and start my path to healing.  Either way, I can recognize I haven’t been sleeping more than 6 hours a night, I’m starving my body by accident, I’m pushing my body to run almost daily and do strength workouts and HIIT daily, and I’m having alcohol more than 3 nights a week and plenty of caffeine every single day so no wonder things aren’t getting better hormonally!

Anyways, probably TMI but I want to be transparent about it- productivity isn’t the smoking gun to achieve your goals in every case.  It’s also important to take a step back from societal pressures and dig deep into your soul, taking a week or at least a few days away from social media and really think about what makes you feel passion and what does your body, mind and soul need right now.  I love to call myself the queen of productivity because I can get so much done in a day even with a full time job.  But I can easily feel pressured to do things that don’t fill my cup and drain my energy, and I’m still learning to set boundaries and not feel guilty for silly things like not posting more on social media or skipping a week of my YouTube uploads when I really needed the extra rest and time away from my laptop and off camera.

Motivational/Inspirational Message of the Week

Take your time this week- don’t drink the alcohol if you don’t want to, don’t fall into the “I can’t do anything before my coffee” societal trap, and don’t feel pressured to do anything you aren’t 100% in love with (outside of your job, haha) because you’re life is too short and too precious to waste living for others ideas of how you’re supposed to live.

Outfit Favorites of the Week

This week I’ve been trying to get ready 3 days a week- like hair and makeup and a cute outfit.  Sounds simple and I’m sure many of you fellow work-from-homers can relate, but I found myself going months in nothing but activewear.  I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that of course, but now that it’s almost summer it’s so much easier to dress up in a cute, comfy dress! I’m sharing what’s in my H&M cart because they have so many cute floral new arrivals, and sharing what I have repeatedly reached for and worn this past week. I am also linking the bike shorts I ordered from Target, which will be here this week, and the neon pink phone case I’m OBSESSED with. I found it for $15 on Amazon and it is so obnoxiously neon pink and I’m so in love!

Not this week, but I’m still uploading my almost daily OOTDs.

Books I’m Loving

I’m still reading the Blue Moon novels, but I am honestly getting bored of the cutesy romance novels. I loved them in the winter when I was cozied up inside but I’ve felt a shift after the sixth book in the series and I’ve got to take a break! Relationships with a male are not that freaking perfect and sexy and maybe that’s why people love romance novels but I can only indulge so much before I roll my eyes while reading.  Luckily I’m in love with my marriage and my life enough that fiction and romance novels only appeal to me in small doses. SO, I recently purchased a psychological thriller to read! I’m very excited for the exciting change in pace and something to keep my attention so I’ll be diving into The Couple Next Door this week!

Anything Else I have to tell you!

Just a reminder to throw out all your old makeup! I used a setting spray back from college (gross I know) and I'm still recovering from a full-face allergic reaction that burns and is now peeling… add that to the list of stressors this past week.

Xoxo, Jess
