Productivity Tip of the Week

This week I am focusing on keeping my home picked up, clutter free, and cleaned.  I am WAY more productive and motivated when my home is not a mess, and I’ve heard that it’s a scientifically proven fact that when your home is clean, you feel better and tend to be less stressed.

Last week I made it a habit to pick up all of my clutter before bed every single night.  If the blankets are balled up on the couch, I fold them and I fluff the throw pillows before bed.  I make sure all dishes are cleaned and dried and put away instead of sitting in the drying rack on the counter.  If the laundry in the dyer is dry, I fold it and put it away.  If there are any items out of place, I just go around the house one last time before bed and put them back where they belong.

This way, every single morning, I wake up to a fresh start in a cleaned home and I can spend my morning doing my morning routine or going on a walk and not picking up from the night before.

Motivational/Inspirational Message of the Week

One week into August and I am SO excited for fall.  I find it so much easier to keep up with my goals and my routine in the fall and winter because being outside isn’t as tempting, if that makes sense. We have one more month in Q3 of 2022 and then it’s the last quarter of 2022.  What can you do this month to keep you on track for your goals, knowing that after August you have one last quarter before we count down to 2023? I like to visit my goals on a weekly basis and see what I did well the week before and how I can improve or pivot the next week.  This really keeps me accountable all through the year but is especially important now that we are closer to the end of the year.

Outfit Favorites of the Week

I live in Align shorts and the All Your Crop tee every day lately.  We are in August, which is the most humid time in North Carolina and I have been walking with my mom in the mornings almost every day, so I’ve been selecting the most breezy outfits I can find.  The crop tee is so lightweight and breathable you feel like you don’t have anything on, but it keeps your shoulders covered from the sun. The align shorts aren’t the best for sweaty morning workouts like these, but I still love wearing them because they are high waisted and they do dry quick after sweating in them.  I’ve also been wearing my newer On Cloud shoes and they have been amazing for my ankles while walking 4 miles every morning- I have had no issues with my feet, ankles or knees with these shoes like I used to with Nikes!

New YouTube Video

This week’s video has not been published yet- I had to film a few extra scenes because part of the haul I’m doing this week just arrived in the mail! Subscribe to my channel to get a notification when I upload the next video, which is a super cozy summer and fall haul!

Books I’m Loving

I finished reading The Perfect Marriage last week, and now I’m reading The Housemaid which is another thriller.  Something about the thrillers lately I’ve just been loving!

Anything Else…

I have some SUPER exciting news that I can’t WAIT to share.  I am filming this week what the news is and uploading it to YouTube in the coming month but I have been waiting to film this video for 9 months now and I finally can.  I know that’s super vague but I am just SO excited to share my news and also super proud of myself for what I have done!!

Also, I woke up at 4:30am a few mornings ago and could not fall back asleep.  I got this random thought that I really wanted to start journaling again, but not like I have been journalling for the past year.  The past year I have been journaling from the standpoint of scripting, which is a law of attraction technique.  I found that it just made me more aware of how far away from my dreams I am, and that is the opposite of why you are supposed to script your dreams when trying to attract the life you want.  So, I decided I’m going to journal at least half of a page (in a small journal) a day.  Preferably at night, but mainly to reflect on all my blessings now and keep me focused in the present moment instead of using all of my attention on the future.  That has been taking me away from the gift of the present moment and I am happy I am following this intuition to journal daily!

I purchased this one from Target because it’s small and flexible, so it will travel well, and I love that there is a little pen holder and pouch on the front cover.

Xoxo, Jess
