Productivity Tip of the Week

In the past few newsletters, I talked about a traditional to-do list and how underrated they are.  If you want to take the to-do list to the next level, try time scheduling! I don’t mean time “blocking” necessarily, (although I talk about that here) but just scheduling your day according to time.

Every evening before I get ready for bed, I open the Notes app in my phone and I brain dump everything I need to get done the next day.  Then, I start scheduling my tasks in order.  I start with my morning routing usually starting at 6:30 (I haven’t been waking up at 5:30 lately- that’s another topic for another day!) and leave an hour for that routine.  Here’s a mock example of what a day could look like:

6:30-7:30 Morning routing

7:30-7:45 Change into workout clothes, make bed, pick up any clutter from morning

7:45-8:15 Walk

8:15-9 Pilates

9-9:30 Breakfast

9:30-12 Work

12 Lunch

1-1:30 Clean bathrooms

1:30-4 Work

4-4:10 Schedule TikTok videos for the next week

4:10-5 Film and edit TikToks

5-6 Evening walk

6-7:30 Dinner block (cooking, eating, cleaning up kitchen)

7:30-8 Plan tomorrow’s schedule

8-10 Wind down, PM routine, read

Motivational/Inspirational Message of the Week

The scheduling idea may sound a little psychotic, but it really works for me! I get excited to go down my list every day and check off each time block.  I also get way more done in the day if I know I only have X amount of time to get the task done. If you need a motivating way to think of this, just remind yourself that every human being has the same hours in a day.  The person who seems to “have it all”: who has a clean, organized home, who eats healthy meals and meal preps, who goes to the gym every day, who makes time for relaxation and family, and who also gets a full 8 hours of sleep every night, has the same amount of time that you do! Scheduling a day like this helps you see where you spend your time in a typical day, and gives you a realistic expectation for the day ahead.

Outfit Favorites of the Week

I went to WalMart today to get our weekly groceries, and found these boots that are the exact same look as the famous Steve Madden ones I’ve had my eye on for 2 years! These are only $30, but feel so comfortable on and look identical. I didn’t want to buy the Steve Madden ones because these are trendy and I wouldn’t consider them a staple item in my closet, so I’m glad I found these!

These items aren’t clothing, but I saved my budget all of July to buy skincare.  I’ve been struggling with my skin lately (blame hormones and going off the hormonal birth control pill) so I purchases a few tried and true products that I LOVE to make me fall in love with skincare again, and also to simplify my routine! Less is more when it comes to your face, people! Here is the TikTok video I made about what I purchased, and everything is linked below. I also purchased a $30 skincare fridge for my bathroom from WalMart, because the Retinoid I got requires refrigeration after opening.  I am excited about this because you can put face masks, moisturizers, anything in a skincare fridge and it feels luxurious to put cooled skincare on your face! Linking the fridge below as well- mine is a “personal chiller” because it keeps items 40 degrees cooler than the temperature of the room, but isn’t technically a fridge.

New YouTube Video

Next YouTube video is such a goodie! It’s a ton of different outfits and ways to wear Golden Goose sneakers.  I love this one because it doesn’t apply to just Golden Goose, but you can use the same outfit guidelines for any trendy, casual sneaker.  It will be live tomorrow, so make sure you subscribe to my channel here and click the little notification bell next to the subscribe button so when I upload the new video you will be alerted.

Books I’m Loving

I finished The Wife Between Us last night and it was SO good.  It was a little confusing, because I couldn’t really tell that the young girl and the present day woman was the same person, so I wish the author was a little more explicit about that, but it definitely kept my attention and it was amazing.

Xoxo, Jess
