DIY Affordable Curtains

I am a big fan of billowy, white curtains and I LOVE a modern but rustic look. However, I do not particularly love the price tag on all my favorite curtains and curtain rods. I also cannot sew for the life of me (which disappoints my mom so much lol) so, I turned to Amazon Prime to see how I could style my windows and walls on my budget and with little to no effort required. In this video, I show you how I hung these curtains and paid exactly $148 for EVERYTHING.

For the dining room: I found this curtain rod from amazon with the hoops and clips sold together. This comes with 14 clips- 7 for each panel. I put 2 panels on this window.

For my panels, I used twin sized bedsheets from Amazon. I bought this pack of 6 white flat sheets only, and they measure 66 x 96 inches each- which is perfect size for my windows!

For the living room: I used this curtain rod since it is a bit thicker and heavier duty than the dining room rod, because the wall is much larger in this room. I also paid more for a more detailed look on the ends of the rod just so it looks more expensive since this is the most popular room in the house. I had to order clips separately for this one, and followed the guide from my dining room rod. I plan on using the leftover 4 sheets for this wall, so going off the 7 clips per panel that I used in the dining room, I figured I needed 28 (7x4) hooks for this room. I found a pack of 40 that was the best price and that were large enough to fit loosely around the rod and ordered those. I figured it’s better to have extra! Update: Ended up using 8-9 clips on each panel for this rod.

Overall, I LOVE how they turned out! All together, I got 3 super wide curtain rods, hooks for the curtains, and 6 large panels for $200 which is unheard of!

Finally, I already had curtains from our old bedroom in our apartment that I am still in love with. I found them at Homegoods last year and they are such amazing quality I wanted to keep them in our bedroom, but I do not have a curtain rod wide enough for the bedroom windows, so I went ahead and ordered a new rod for the bedroom from amazon as well! I got this one in brushed nickel since our master bathroom and our bedroom lamps are silver and nickel, and there is silver in the curtains. I did love this one more, but they did not make it wide enough for this room unfortunately.
